As we come closer to the end of the year we are all looking forward to the warmer weather and the break from school. While I agree that students need a “brain break” from daily instruction, I have seen many students lose some crucial learning over the long summer break. We call this “summer slide” or “regression”. One way to keep students sharp is to join the Summer Reading Program at the Warwick Public Library and continue to practice reading at home, use IXL, and other learning programs at home.

Students should all have log in codes or passwords for IXL and other programs such as kidsa-z.com, squigglepark, or achieve 3000.
