Lippitt Parents and Students,

As our summer winds down I would like to extend a warm welcome to all new students and families as well as all returning Lippitt community members.

Our custodial staff, teachers, staff, and I have been working to prepare our school for the first day of school, September 4th. As usual, class lists, Grades 1-5, will be posted on the wall in our recess courtyard. Kindergarten lists will be located at Kindergarten pick up area, where color circle is located. We have many new students and we will help all new families find the proper teacher. If a steady rain occurs, we will have all K-2 students go to the gym and grades 3-5 will go to the auditorium to meet teachers and then go to classrooms.

We have many new staff and new students starting at Lippitt but most of our staff has returned so students will see many familiar faces.

Students will be bringing home some paperwork on the first couple days but the majority of the paperwork is now only accessed online at the district website. Please visit our district website, to access important forms and documents. Each student will receive a planner or homework folder and included in the first section of the planner or pocket of folder are valuable school/ district information and policies. These are great organization tool that can help parents communicate with teachers on a daily basis.

As a reminder, no students should be dropped off before our morning supervision person arrives at 8:15 am. The doors will remain locked until she arrives and unlocks them. This is the time that students may arrive to eat breakfast in our cafeteria or go outside and play with friends before the first bell rings at 8:33 and then rings again at 8:35 am.

Please mark your calendars for our Open House which is on September 26th at 6:00 pm. Please plan to attend this and our monthly PTO meetings so you can share your voice, expertise, and be a part of our amazing learning community. We have many great things happening at Lippitt and are looking forward to working toward creating a rigorous learning environment where learning is engaging and personalized to meet the needs of each student.

Don’t forget to get your BCI check if you want to volunteer or attend field trips. Our Warwick volunteer organization, VOWS, is a key ingredient to our success so please consider joining.
