Keep an eye on your email and the Warwick Public Schools’ Facebook page for information on the free summer lunch program. A great way to pick up some extra food and snacks while the kids are home eating all day long. Or maybe that’s just my kids!?

We have a new District website coming!

Out with the old, in with the new! We have great news! We are changing all of our websites to a brand new format. Warwick Public Schools’ staff members have been working hard collaborating to create an entirely new and engaging website experience for Warwick students and families! And, the new websites will launch this summer! Soon you will have a whole new experience when you visit the District home page and school sites. The new sites will have live feeds connected to Warwick Schools’ social media Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages. Families will have the option to download an app bringing push notifications and updates to you instantly and conveniently. You can take a sneak peek at what the website layout will look like in this video. I will be adding updates to the Title I school sites and linking that information to the Title I social media outlets; Title I Warwick on Facebook and @WarwickFamilyEngagement on Instagram.

What's Happening in our schools?

Our students have been working very hard on all the end-of-the-year testing! You’ve got this! As you may or may not know, field trips are back on! Many schools have been taking advantage of the lifted restrictions by sending students to visit Save The Bay, the State House, Mystic Aquarium, and more! Many of our classrooms are also inviting new life into the class this month! We have baby chicks hatching and butterflies emerging in several schools! Meeting all the new incoming kindergarten students and their families during our orientations has been such a pleasure! Welcome to Warwick!

We finished our last Parenting Partners group for this year with some incredible parents from the Lippitt community! Here is what our survey results told us about all the groups we facilitated this year:

100% felt more connected to their school and its faculty.

100% gained specific tools and strategies to help their child(ren) develop a positive view of their value and self-esteem.

The vast majority increased the number of family meals together.

100% argue less with their children

100% would recommend the program to friends and family.

I sincerely hope you consider joining one of our groups next year if you have not already. Here is what one of our participants had to say about the program. β€œAs parents, we're always trying to do the right thing for our kids. But there are times that we start wondering, β€˜Am I doing the right thing?’ β€˜Am I being too strict, or not strict enough?’ β€˜How else can I get my message through so that our parent/child relationship can be a good and healthy one?’ The Parenting Partners program offered through Oakland Beach Elementary was a great opportunity for me to ask these questions, get sound advice, and create a new network of fellow parents who want to create healthier, and more confident kids. Throughout the classes, we did many role-play interactions. These skits assisted in improving our communication skills as well as reminding us how impactful our behavior in various interactions will affect our children. If you have the opportunity, I encourage you to participate; you’ll learn a few things, gain confidence, improve your relationships and form a new group of parents who can be your support team beyond the classes.”  - Oakland Beach Parent, Micheal Bent

Thank you to all of our parent participants this year. We look forward to continuing this valuable program next year!
