family on couch with the flu

Dear Parents/Guardians,

There has been an uptick in respiratory illness including confirmed influenza cases. We are
asking that parents/guardians have increased awareness and keep ill children home during
this time.
Flu signs and symptoms usually come on suddenly. People who are sick with the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
● Fever/feeling feverish or chills
● Cough
● Sore throat
● Runny or stuffy nose
● Muscle or body aches
● Headaches
● Fatigue (tiredness)
● Some people may have vomiting and diarrhea, though this is more common in children than
adults

Please be advised that WPS Covid protocols and testing requirements are still in place.
Please inform the school nurse of any symptoms your child is experiencing so that
appropriate guidance can be given. It is always advisable to contact your doctor with any health-related concerns, especially those requiring diagnostic testing (flu, Covid, Strep, RSV, etc).
